Explanation :-
Aggregate Impact Value – This gives a relative measure of resistance of an aggregate to its sudden shock or impact, which in some aggregates differ from its resistance to a slow compressive load. (Refer IS : 2386 Part IV-1963).

  • In making airport runway, the aggregate impact value should not be more than 30% for aggregate used for pavement construction and not more than 45% for other concrete work
